Yes... the question: Do you like Balls?... as in Masquerade Balls?

Four awesome Alums!

Earlier this week we got a visit from four of our favorite former tech students - down from NYC to enjoy the Irish festival and to say "Hi" to that guy in the middle.

We had a few minutes to catch up and look at all the great things they are up to:

Brian Kalin (far left) - Working as a studio coordinator & creative visual verchant for Tiffany & Co. - creates window displays & mock-ups for the Tiffany & Co windows.

Lara Rhyner (second to the left) -  Creative assistant for Magnolia Bakery. Creattes store decorations for holidays, event table displays, media table display designer & paints cabinetry for new stores as well as assists in opining new stores.

you know that guy in the middle - doesn't he look like a proud prof.

Mauren Pereira (second from the right) - Crafts & first hand at John Kristiansen Costumes, NYC; Crafts Assistant for Victoria's Secret & Fashion Show 2011 with Marian Jean Hase; custom cocktail dress designer. Received MA from Central School of Speech & Drama, 2010, in Senography & Advanced Theatre Practice, London, England.

Timothy Jones (far right) -  Freelance fabrication artist and stagehand. Recent works include: Fashion Week Lacoste, Jason Wu, store displays for Uniglo Faconnable, working with Julliard and the CUNY Theaters of NYC

Cleansing - it does a body good...

This morning Our Hero Matt Dicintio list served this email to all the Theatre VCU students and Faculty.

The Bloginator (Matt Cicintio's lovely sidekick) is RESENDING -
Just to be sure everyone gets it.

And by "gets it" I mean understands that our class spaces look like crap, are embarrassing, and it's about time we get our collective asses in gear and clean it up - TOGETHER.

DO YOU GET IT???

So this is what Matt wrote:

You know all that junk that's in that room?

And by THAT room, I mean the all the Theatre Department's rooms.

Junk is bad. Let's get rid of junk.

On Saturday, March 24, 10a - 12p, we're going to get rid of junk,
garbage, trash, and everything that's broken and awful in 53, 57, 201,
204, 302, and Newdick. We hope you'll help us get rid of junk,
garbage, trash, and everything that's broken and awful.

The faculty have made a commitment to help take care of spaces, and we
hope you will, too. We'll be hauling out broken desks, table, chairs
and everything not nailed down and throwing it onto a truck. Then
we'll have lunch.

If you commit to the full two hours you'll get lunch, that volunteer credit you need to graduate, and a chance to win one of 10 pairs of tickets to "Spelling Bee."

Come on - let's get rid of junk!

Thanks,
Matt

PS. If you don't help, you can't complain.

Theatre VCU hits NYC!!!

Listen to what Lorri Lindberg has to say about our presence in the Apple:

"Theatre VCU's 2012 Showcase is a sold out event. It has become so successful, that next year we will have to have two of them to hold all of those that want to see our incredibly talented seniors. This has taken 10 years to happen. Thanks to Shorey Walker, Actor's Connection, the faculty at Theatre VCU and more importantly, the last ten year's of performance majors who have taken the risk of moving to NYC and jumping into the fray. I am overwhelmed by the industry and alumni response. Thank you all."Go here for an awe inspiring video
