3 Performance Alumni - 3 Performance Adventures!

This is what started this morning (thank you O Gods of Facebook!)

Just cruising through the statuses - seeing if anyone reposted the blog. Looking ofr a lowly "like".

Which is about this:

Which is a
brand new independent film
that seems to have this person  >
(sorry Brandon, couldn't resist
using the Dracula photo)
featured in the advertising and is
looking brilliant in the trailer!
Congratulations to
Brandon Crowder.

The Ballerina and the Rocking Horse looks amazing!

Then I grimaced.
Because the Blogster just dropped the ball about this:

What about this performance alumni?

Theatre VCU 2009
Now appearing in this film - nationally released April 21, 2012, held over The Landmark Sunshine Theater in NYC!:

AND also appearing in this:
The Silent City
a new movie series that will (hopefully) be picked up by Sci-Fi Network where Gerron played a Zombie/Undergrounder
(ya know... like you do in Sci-Fi stuff)

And while we are tipping our Blog-Hat
How's about
Joe Carlson
Theatre VCU 2008 & 2010

Who is in Synetic Theatre's production of:
 Okay.
Now it's all you.
Who am I missing.
Who's doing What?

Tell me - and let me brag.

Student Voices 2012 - A new ensemble and new important issues!

Today was day two of the fourth annual production of  VCU 2012 Student Voices
here in the Theatre VCU Student Lounge.

As you can see they are not quite off-book.

In fact,
As we speak the cast and Director (Barry Bell) are ad-libbing, writing and revealing personal truths that are going to address issues that face every college student:

Yes,
the core of Student Voices is the same:
College is different from everything that came before.

Ariel Shine, Jasmine Hammond, Anna Jones & Liz Earnest watch a scene
Yes,
It provides an opportunity for parents and their incoming first-year students to have a conversation about some of the challenges that students face: time management, weird roomates, sexuality, bullying, and how to safely live in the city - as well as the joys of friendship, growth and
university life.
Max Moore, Dixon Cashwell, Matt Bloch & Michael Hegarty on book.
 And Yes,
Student Voices brings all those joys, questions and challenges to life for every VCU registering incoming first-year and their parents with humor, compassion, pathos, and joy.
This Blogster hopes to follow their rehearsals for the next few weeks to share with you.

Student Voices is something we do very right.
